Lake Ontario can look quiet from shore. A long line of blue. A weather front moving in. A freighter small against the horizon.
But the lake is never only the view.
It is deep water moving from Niagara toward the St. Lawrence. It is a source of drinking water for millions. It is a route travelled and lived with by Indigenous peoples for thousands of years, through relationships that continue today. It is the working water beside Hamilton steel, Toronto sugar, Oshawa cargo and Kingston dry dock. It is marsh, bluff, beach, island, river mouth and winter ice. It is where cities meet a freshwater horizon.
Lake Ontario Strong began with a simple idea: this lake deserves a contemporary cultural brand as layered as the place itself.
Not another souvenir. Not an outdoors label pretending the city is somewhere else.
Lake Ontario Strong is for people who grew up here and people still growing into here. For someone in Kingston who reads the weather in the eastern lake, someone in Hamilton who sees the harbour from a shift, someone in Toronto whose first feeling of space came at the waterfront, someone far away who still carries this horizon.
